چکیده

Investigation was conducted on 219 Jersey cows. LEPR genotypes were established with the PCRRFLP using the TaqI restriction endonuclease. The frequencies of the threonine encoding C allele and the methionine encoding T allele were 0.79 and 0.21, respectively. The across-families analysis did not revealed any significant effect of the LEPR T945M polymorphism on milk, fat and protein yields. The significant relations were, however, found for fat and protein contents. Animals with the TT genotype were characterized by the lowest values of both traits. The within-family analysis, showed the significant effect only on milk fat content in one half-sibs group.

Genetic polymorphisms of leptin and leptin receptor genes in relation with production and reproduction traits in cattle.

Leptin and leptin receptor genes are considered as production traits markers in dairy or beef cattle. The aim of this study was to verify the associations of polymorphisms in bovine LEP and LEPR genes with production and reproduction traits in Slovak Spotted and Pinzgau cows. Long-life production was evaluated: milk, protein, and fat yield and reproduction traits: age at first calving, calving ...

Association of LEPR gene Polymorphism with milk yield and age at first calv-ing in the Iranian Holstein dairy cows

The LEPR is a glycoprotein expressed mainly in hypothalamus, where it takes part in energy homeostasis and in regulation of the activity of the secretory organs. A transition mutation in this gene results in substitution of cytosine by thymine leading to the substitution of threonine by methionine in the intracellular domain of the LEPR-b isoform. This study investigated the impact of polymorph...

DNA Polymorphisms at Candidate Gene Loci and Their Relation with Milk Production Traits in Murrah Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis)

DNA polymorphism within diacylglycerol transferase 2 (DGAT2) / monoacyl glycerol transferases 2 (MOGAT2), leptin and butyrophilin genes were analysed using PCR-SSCP in Murrah buffalo. The single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) analysis of amplified gene fragment in exon 5 of MOGAT2, exon 3 of leptin and intron 1 of butyrophilin gene revealed different patterns. A, B and C showed the fol...

Expression of genes involved in energy homeostasis in the duodenum and liver of Holstein-Friesian and Jersey cows and their F(1) hybrid.

Differences in feed intake and production efficiency in lactating Holstein-Friesian (HF), Jersey (JE), and JE × HF (F(1)) dairy cows have been reported. The liver-gut axis is important in the regulation of energy homeostasis, appetite behaviour, and production efficiency. The objectives of this study were to determine: 1) the effect of dairy cow genotype on the expression profiles of genes invo...

Association analyses of single nucleotide polymorphisms in the leptin and leptin receptor genes on milk and morphological traits in Holstein cows

To date, only a few SNP in the leptin receptor gene have been detected and analyzed while the leptin gene has been extensively characterized and several polymorphisms were detected and associated to functional and productive traits in cattle. In this work, for the first time, the bovine leptin receptor gene was fully characterized by sequencing the whole coding region and part of the 5’ flankin...
